2018 MG Car Club at The Bend!

There's a new track in town and everyone wants a drive.  The Bend is the newest facility in Australia and the first time SA has had a new track since, well, forever.  And it's a good one. Four main layouts being the full GT circuit (7.7kms) the International circuit (4.6kms) and separate East and West circuits that can both operate at the same time.

For 2018 the MG Car Club of SA hosted the MG nationals and ran a Hillclimb at Collingrove and then a super sprint using the West circuit at The Bend. To fill the grids they offered spots to other Marque Sports club members and we took the opportunity to run both the Datsun and our Elfin Clubman so both driver and navigator could experience the new track together.

There was of course a little healthy competition between us with driver having raced at the track before and navigator getting her first look at the layout. Limited track time (only three sessions) made learning the track difficult and while we didn't trouble the trophy presenters we did bring two straight cars home again. 

I've now had a run at the GT, International and West layouts so looking at the calendar for the first chance to run the twisty and technical East track.  Just have to choose which car....
