A wet day at Mallala

Mallala in South Australia is one of those places that has binary weather - either hot and windy or cold and wet.  And windy.

June saw the 2nd round of the Marque Sports Car Assoc SuperSprint series at Mallala (that's a mouthful) and Driver took his turn to give the Datsun a run.  But it rained.  And rained. And just when a dry line started to appear it rained again.

A driver coach might tell you to take every opportunity to hit a wet track as you never know when you will have a wet event and you just might need the practice.  Our panel beater might suggest we leave it in the shed.  But hit the track we did and four wet and damp sessions saw a quick time about three seconds slower than a PB but plenty of sideways action and locked brakes and just a single off at turn one when a greedy late brake saw all four locked up for a tour through the run off area.

While not fast it's a lot of fun to hit a wet track when there's no pressure, just got a bit of cleaning to do now before we tuck it back up in the car cover...
