Adelaide Datsun Day at the Bay 2018

The Adelaide Datsun Club is essentially a Facebook group for Datsun owners in our home town of Adelaide in South Australia. Apart from some ad hoc cruises and meets during the year the main event put on by a few members is the Adelaide Datsun Day. It’s a low key affair, previous events have been held at the National Motor Museum in Birdwood and its a big show and shine but with no prizes or awards, just a social gathering to show off your car to like minded enthusiasts.

This year the event moved to the seaside suburb of Glenelg for a change of scenery and it turned out to be a great venue for this type of show with the organisers laying on a bouncy castle for the kids and couple of food trucks for lunch.

Our blue 240z is barely two months on from its first drive after a 15 odd year rest and 3 year restoration so I was very happy to have it ready for this event, in fact for over a year I had a goal of having the car ready for this show so I was pretty relieved to be ready.

We had a mini cruise in from the hills with Adam’s 240 and Mick’s 260 (who painted the car) meeting up to roll down the hill and we picked up another 240 on the way.

At the bay there was already a strong line up of cars and the quality and breadth of the cars this year was great to see and be a part of and I’m very happy to have the blue 240z as part of the show.
